7 Wrong Thoughts About Books 🧠

Erroneous thinking is why most people don't write, finish, publish, or leverage their book.

And this just sucks, both for their business and for all the people they're not serving.

So let's shift the thinking, shall we?

Wrong Thought 1:

“Writing a book is hard.”

→ REALITY No it’s not, as long as you have a blueprint and a clear understanding of what you’ll include (from talking to your ideal clients... and smiling).

Wrong Thought 2:

“I’m too busy.”

→ REALITY You only have to spend 20 minutes a day / six days a week... if you follow the right method.

Wrong Thought 3:

→ “It’s not worth my time.”

REALITY If you put your book in the hands of 100 people, and 10% of them invest in your high-ticket program, how much would that be worth to you?

And digging deeper


✓ If you stand out as an expert, authority, or thought leader (so you can help more people)... is that worth it?

✓ If you start the "sale" long before people meet you
 is that worth it?

✓ If you get one high-ticket client
 is that worth it?

✓ If you get more referrals automatically
 is that worth it?

✓ If you get one, extra new client each month
 is that worth it?

AND.... because the book pays for itself (then that value increases exponentially, the more you use it)!

Wrong Thought 4:

“You can’t make money before it’s finished or published.”

→ REALITY Actually, if you call yourself the “Forthcoming author of X,” that can help you get in front of new, potential clients before you’re even in print. Then you talk to folks, develop/deepen relationships, and invite them to become clients or strategic partners.

Wrong Thought 5:

“The best books are chock full of facts and information.”

→ REALITY The best books help people shift their ideas and beliefs (instead of burying them with too much information). They make your reader want to contact you.

Wrong Thought 6:

“You need to sell at least 90,000 books to make 6 figures or more.”

→ REALITY You don’t need to sell any books! Because when you get your book into the hands of your ideal client, you can make an extra six figures from just one person saying yes to you. (Or two. Or 10. You get the picture.)

Wrong Thought 7:

“Traditional publishing is better.”

→ REALITY If you’re a consultant, coach, solopreneur, speaker, or small business owner, 99% of the time it's NOT.

✓ Instead, you want author-controlled publishing or professional self-publishing.

✓ Because then YOU own YOUR intellectual property, plus you have more freedom to create the book you want on your terms.

(And you can be finished in as little as five weeks instead of much longer.)
